Respectful Support

We live by our mission statement:

The Little Campus offers much more than a rich academic curriculum. We've built a nurturing home away from home where every child feels loved, supported, and excited to learn.

TLC isn't just our acronym

It's our promise of Tender Loving Care that we deliver every day. We live by our mission statement: Little ones need a lot of TLC. This commitment is evident in every aspect of our program, starting with our carefully vetted and trained staff of over 40; far exceeding mandated staff requirements; ensuring that children are always attended to, well cared for, respected and constantly engaged and stimulated.

Our staff is trained to provide the comfort and attention each child needs

Responsive, attentive care is critical for a child's healthy brain development and emotional well-being. For that reason, we never leave a child to cry. Our staff is trained to provide the comfort and attention each child needs, whether it's a cuddle, a favorite toy, or a soothing word. We believe in building a strong foundation of trust and love, so your child is happy to come to school each day.

A first experience outside of the home can sometimes be challenging. To ensure a successful transition, we've developed a comprehensive and effective process that includes personalized meet-and-greets, an individualized transition plan developed in collaboration with parents, extra staffing for new arrivals, and a focus on each child's individual needs and interests.

Moments that matter: growing, learning, and celebrating together at TLC

Our calendar is brimming with exciting events that create lasting memories and learning opportunities. From the splashy fun of Water Play Wednesdays during summer months to the spirited competition of our annual Olympics, every week brings new adventures. Families are warmly invited to join in the excitement of many events, such as our annual BBQ, fostering a strong sense of community.

As your child grows with us, we meticulously document their journey in a special Learning Log that accompanies them from toddlerhood to preschool graduation. This treasured keepsake is filled with artwork, photographs, and mementos that capture the magic of early childhood. It's more than just a collection of memories; it's a tangible record of your child's growth, learning, and experiences with us.

Early childhood is a unique and precious time. We've created an environment where every aspect of a child's development is nurtured – cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and creative. Everything at TLC is designed to give your child the whole experience they deserve.

At Their Pace

Supporting natural development

We understand that every child develops at their own unique pace. We believe in supporting children's natural progression rather than enforcing arbitrary timelines. This philosophy applies to developmental milestones such as walking, toilet use, and napping.

Potty readiness

We prefer the term "potty readiness" over "potty training" because it emphasizes the child's natural development. Our educators are trained to observe and recognize signs of interest in using the toilet. When a child shows curiosity or willingness, we provide gentle support and encouragement, never pressure or force.

Walking readiness

Similarly, we don't "teach" walking. Instead, we create safe, stimulating environments that encourage mobility. When a child shows signs of wanting to walk, such as pulling themselves up or cruising along furniture, we offer support and opportunities for practice.

Nap time

Sleep is crucial for a child's development, but forcing sleep or interrupting sleep can create negative associations. We provide a calm, comfortable environment for rest, but we never force a child to sleep. Equally, we don't wake a sleeping child or prevent them from napping when they're tired, even in preschool. We respect each child's individual sleep needs and patterns.

Our role as educators is to carefully observe each child, recognize their readiness for these developmental steps, and provide appropriate support and challenges when the child shows interest.
