Early education should be joyful, meaningful and designed to nurture the whole child.
Expert-led specialty programming in STEAM, physical education, music, and early literacy.
These aren’t occasional extras or taught by generalists; they are fully integrated into our curriculum and led by passionate professionals who focus solely on their area of expertise. This depth of knowledge allows us to deliver rich, engaging experiences that go far beyond the basics, giving every child the opportunity to explore, express, and grow in meaningful ways.
Our early literacy program is led by an experienced, Ontario Certified Teacher who specializes in language development and early reading. Through playful, intentional learning experiences, children build the foundational skills they need to become confident readers, writers, and communicators.
Children are introduced to phonics (learning how letters connect to sounds) and begin blending those sounds to form simple words. They explore books independently and in group settings, engage in storytelling and dramatic play, and develop vocabulary through rich conversations. Early writing is encouraged through drawing, tracing, and practicing letter formation, helping children express their ideas with growing confidence.
Whether they’re identifying the first sound in a word, writing their name, or retelling a favourite story, children are developing the tools—and the love—for reading and writing that will support them for years to come.

Our STEAM program — Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math— is led by an experienced science teacher who brings age-appropriate science and discovery to life through hands-on, play-based learning. Children explore early engineering concepts, conduct sensory-rich experiments, and engage in creative projects that challenge their thinking and fuel their imaginations.
From building bridges with blocks to experimenting with light and shadow, children are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas, and share their discoveries. They learn how the world works by exploring real-life concepts in ways that make sense to them—like understanding how bees make honey through pollination, learning and observing how plants grow, or exploring the properties of water and ice.
Through guided experiments, nature-based learning, and open-ended exploration, our STEAM program helps children develop critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills—all while sparking a lifelong love of inquiry and innovation.

Led by a specialist in early childhood physical development, our physical education program is about far more than just “burning off energy.” It’s a thoughtfully designed experience that builds coordination, strength, balance, and body awareness through age-appropriate movement challenges, group games, and active play.
Whether navigating an obstacle course, learning to throw and catch with peers, balancing on the beam, or pedaling a tricycle, children develop not only physical skills but also confidence, perseverance, and teamwork. Activities are tailored to each developmental stage, ensuring that every child is supported and challenged in ways that help them grow.
By building a strong connection between mind and body, we help children develop a lifelong appreciation for movement and physical health.

Our music program is led by a professional musician with a passion for the early years. At The Little Campus, music is a vibrant, immersive experience that introduces children to the full spectrum of sound as a language of expression, emotion, and culture.
Children explore rhythm, melody, and movement through hands-on engagement with instruments, singing, and storytelling. But they also journey through musical genres and histories; from the timeless compositions of Mozart, to the poetic storytelling of The Beatles, to the high-energy rhythms of The Ramones. No Baby Shark on repeat here! This wide exposure fosters a deep appreciation for music and opens the door to understanding diverse sounds, cultures, and emotions.
Music is part of everyday life at The Little Campus, whether it’s a spontaneous sing-along, a rhythm activity, or an exploration of instruments. Through these experiences, many of our students develop a love and passion for music.

Please note that transitions between programs are individualized, based on each child’s readiness and development. The age ranges provided serve as general guidelines, and movement between programs does not necessarily involve a change of classroom.

At The Little Campus, we wholeheartedly adopt the Whole Child Approach as the foundation of our teaching philosophy.
This comprehensive method recognizes that children demonstrate their learning in diverse ways. Whether a child articulates understanding through language or demonstrates growth via physical activities like climbing and balancing.
Learn more about our approach

Our ultimate goal is to lay a robust foundation for lifelong learning. We are dedicated to fostering children who are curious, confident, and eager to explore the world around them, providing each child with the best possible start on their educational path.
Central to the Whole Child Approach is a profound emphasis on social-emotional learning. We believe that nurturing essential life skills such as empathy, cooperation, and self-regulation is as critical as academic instruction. By integrating these competencies into daily experiences, we develop confident, emotionally intelligent children equipped to navigate their world effectively.

Our curriculum is rooted in the principle of holistic development, celebrating each child’s unique strengths and interests. We ensure that every facet of growth, cognitive, physical, social, and emotional, receives dedicated attention and support. This individualized approach allows us to honor each child’s personal journey, promoting well-rounded development that lays a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Recognizing the vital role of family engagement, we prioritize open and consistent communication with our families. In addition to providing biannual progress reports that detail each child’s growth and achievements across all developmental areas, we maintain daily interactions to keep parents informed and involved.
These regular touchpoints foster a collaborative partnership, ensuring that we collectively support each child’s learning journey. By combining structured reporting with ongoing dialogue, we create a transparent and supportive environment where families feel connected and engaged in their child’s development.

As a private school licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Education, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards in early childhood education. Our curriculum aligns seamlessly with Ontario’s pedagogical framework for the early years, “How Does Learning Happen?”
This alignment underscores our commitment to fostering environments where cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development are interconnected and equally valued.
