Alessia is a passionate registered Early Childhood Educator who has a unique perspective on teaching young minds. Her journey in educating children started as an Educational Assistant for children with exceptionalities in 2017. During this time, Alessia discovered her passion for play-based learning and early literacy, which sparked a joy for learning within the children she worked with.
With a BA in Psychology and experience working with childhood development professionals, Alessia gained a deep understanding of holistic child development. This experience motivated her to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education. Her goal as an educator is to create an inclusive learning environment where all children are seen, heard and understood as active members of the classroom community. Alessia believes that all children are competent and capable individuals and advocates for fully inclusive learning programs that provide equitable access to education for all learners and needs.
In her free time, Alessia loves to connect with nature through activities like dancing, hiking, camping, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and her dog. Her love for the outdoors translates into her teaching philosophy, where she enjoys bringing naturalistic items into the classroom environment to cultivate a sense of wonder and inquiry.
Alessia's personal teaching philosophy is that every child has a plethora of potential, and it is through given opportunities and positive encouragement that every child is able to shine, succeed, and grow.
I believe that every child has a unique set of strengths and abilities that, when nurtured and encouraged, can lead to amazing outcomes.
